the Bay Gourmet Olive Oil Group

the Bay Gourmet is based in Kerikeri, in the heart of the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. The Bay Gourmet Olive Oil Group is a group of old olive growers, each committed to producing the very finest Extra Virgin Olive Oil possible. In short we produce regional Olive Oils at their best.

It has grown from the original Los Molinos Olive Grove that was established in Kerikeri in 1998 with 1485 olive trees and now involves five oldies working  co-operatively and sometimes  affectionately referred to as the “5 grumpy  old men”.

These Olive growers have a history of involvement with olives and olive oils dating as far back as 1972 and despite their ages still continue to grow, prune, harvest and be involved with the pressing.

As we say – it keeps us young and we are passionate about producing beautiful extra virgin olive oil and enjoying it’s health benefits as well as the odd  glass of red wine!!!
